RHYME presented and published two fullpapers at ICCHP 2012 in Linz in July. ICCHP is one of the most important conferences concerning technology and disability. The papers is published in Proceedings by Springer Verlag.
One of the papers with the title “RHYME – Musicking for all” is written by Harald Holone and Jo Herstad. The paper discusses familiarity in Tangible Interaction design related to Universal Design. The title on the other paper is “Musicking Tangibles for empowerment” and is written by Birgitta Cappelen and Anders-Petter Andersson. The paper presents a novel approach towards understanding and design of interactive music technology for people with special needs, what they call Musicking Tangibles. The approach combine perspectives from culture oriented Tangible interaction design with empowerment and resource oriented Music Therapy, and criticizes and broaden the traditional instrument and interface oriented perspective on music technology.
